DONNA JEAN ROCK,
88, of Sebewaing, died following a long illness Saturday, April 30, 2011 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit. She was born August 9, 1922 in Sandusky the only child of Ferman and Jeannetta (Sangster) Bright. She married Albert Rock February 6, 1945 in Chicago, IL. Albert and Donna had no children. He died April 20, 1999.
Donna graduated from Cass City High School. She worked for Ford Motor Company retiring after many years. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed being part of a bowling league when she lived in the city. Donna enjoyed playing piano in her younger years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Donna enjoyed fishing with Albert on their boat.
Donna is survived by her cousins: Dorothy Wentworth of Deford, Dolores Howell of Essexville, Diane Sangster of Lapeer, Donna Lossing of Lapeer, Duane (Shirley) Sangster of Decker, Sharon Daley of Westland; many second cousins and extended family. She is also survived by Albert’s nephews: Herman Rock of Georgia, Henry Rock of Millington and their families. Donna is preceded in death by her aunts: Olive Bartels, Avis Youngs, Theresa Biddle; uncles: Samuel Sangster, James Sangster; cousins: George Sangster, William Sangster, Janice Youngs, and William Bartels.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Daniel Hahn of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Rock: Herman Rock, Henry Rock, Rod Wentworth, Jim Wentworth, Duane Sangster, and Jeff Parsell. Memorials may be made to United Hospice of Marlette or Northwood Meadows.
