Robert D. Ridenour, 82, of Cass City, died Friday, November 21, 2014 in Huron County Medical Care Facility. He was born March 16, 1932 in Morenci to Coral G. and Ruth M. (Speith) Ridenour. He married Florence I. Steves May 21, 1955 in Addison.
After graduating from Waldron High School in 1950 Bob worked on an ore carrier in the Great Lakes for two years. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Hokkaido, Japan during the Korean War. Bob worked for Consumers Power as a lineman before beginning a job with General Telephone. He retired from General Telephone as Construction and Installation Supervisor after many years of service. Bob was a former member of the Adrian Moose Lodge and the Cass City Rotary. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, deer hunting and trips to Oba Lake, Ontario, Canada Walleye fishing. Bob also loved to golf.
Bob is survived by his wife, Florence; children: Kristine (David) Milligan of Cass City, Ross (Linda) Ridenour of Novi; grandchildren: Michael Milligan, Elisabeth Milligan, Ryan Ridenour, Eric Ridenour. He is also survived by his sisters: Evelyn (Richard) Bishop of Adrian, Pat (Cleo) Vernier of Adrian; many nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard; sister, Janet (Norbert) Whalon.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Steven Bagnall of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rawson Memorial Library, Cass City Band Boosters or Cass City Athletic Boosters.
