RICHARD TINDALE HUNT
Richard T. Hunt, 82, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Hills and Dales Healthcare, Cass City. He was born January 7, 1942 in Bad Axe to Curt Raymond and Dorothy (Tindale) Hunt. He married Janice Lynn Parker on May 13, 1967 in Cass City First Presbyterian Church. She died July 27, 2012.
Richard graduated from Cass City High School in 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Following his time in the military, he returned home and worked for his father’s company, C.R. Hunt Construction. Richard built and owned Huntsville Trailer Park in Cass City and owned the Cass City Ford Dealership. Later, he worked for Tower Automotive (Active Automotive) in Sebewaing. Richard also owned Bigelow Hardware and Kar-Mikels Dairy Cone, both in Cass City. He retired in 2006. Richard and Janice were fond of time, up at the lake, in Caseville, boating and fishing. He loved time spent with his family.
Richard is survived by his children: Brian Hunt of Cass City, Cari (Kurt) Russell of Cass City; grandchildren: Casey Rabideau, Morgan Russell, Emma Hunt, Ethan Hunt; great grandson, Berrek Wroubel; sister, Sally (Jerry) Forthun of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Barbara (Donald) Ball of Cass City. Richard is preceded in death by his wife; sister, Jane (Jack) Hool.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to Brian Hunt to be used at the family’s discretion.
