MARION JEAN RAYL
Marion J. Rayl, 81, of Silverwood, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 in United Hospice of Marlette Inpatient Center. She was born April 14, 1925 in Akron to John and Zella (Fuester) Horst. She married Edwin V. Rayl December 24, 1943 at her family farm in Akron.
Marion graduated in 1943 from Akron High School as Salutatorian. She attended one year at County Normal and taught school in a country school near Gilford for a year after. After they were married, Marion stayed home to help Edwin on the farm and to raise their family. She was a foster grandmother in Kingston Community Schools for 15 years.
Marion is survived by her husband, Edwin Rayl; children: Renae (Richard) Taylor of Kingston, Carol (Clifford) Collins of Kingston, John (Laurie) Rayl of Silverwood; grandchildren: Cheryl (Hank) Belfield, Patrick (Rhonda) Taylor, Cindy (Jamie) Clapsaddle, Kimberly (Brian) Luptowski, Daniel (Cheryl) Rayl, Crystal (Eric) Hayes, Jeremy (Bobbi) Rayl, Sarah Rayl, Candy Collins, Chanse Collins; great grandchildren: Hannah, Joshua, Michael, Chelsey, Kyleigh, McKenzie, Zachary, Jacob, Collon, Caitlyn, James; sisters: Mildred Kielitz of FL, Maxine Fox of Akron, Gwendolyn Llewellyn of Berkley, Donna Llewellyn of Fremont, Noreen (Jerry) Kuchkow of Jackson, Joann (Dean) Kritzman of Deckerville, Ethel (James) Albertson of Bay City, Walter (Noreen) Horst of Sandusky; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sisters: Ruby Peck, Maude Hessey; three infant brothers; brothers-in-law: Otto Kielitz, Charles Fox, Timothy Llewellyn, and Arthur Llewellyn.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2006 in Deford Community Church with Pastor David Mercer officiating. Memorials may be made to Deford Community Church, Deford Christian Academy, or Kingston Community Schools Scholarship Fund. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City. Pallbearers for Mrs. Rayl are: Hank Belfield, Patrick Taylor, Jamie Clapsaddle, Brian Luptowski, Daniel Rayl, Eric Hayes, Jeremy Rayl and Chanse Collins.
