Gene Rathmann

Gene D. Rathmann, 74, of Kingston (formerly of Granite City, IL), died after a brief illness Saturday, September 4, 2004 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Saginaw. He was born May 13, 1930 in East St. Louis, IL to Edward J. and Hazel M. (Harris) Rathmann. He married Joyce Marie Oliver August 22, 1953 in Corinth, MS.
Gene is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Rennelle �"Corby” Rathmann of Granite City, IL; sister-in-law, Marguerite Moriarty of Medina, NY; brother-in-law, Dr. Richard (Carrie F.) Oliver, M.D. of Dadeville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral services to be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2004 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston, with Rev. Terry Butters of Kingston United Methodist Church officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Interment will take place Monday, September 13, 2004 in Sunset Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. Military honors will take place at his graveside under the direction of the United States Air Force.
Visitation: 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, before funeral service
