Karen Marie Preppernau (Grace)

KAREN MARIE PREPPERNAU,

74, of Cass City, died following a lengthy illness Monday, April 1, 2019 in Courtney Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bad Axe. She was born July 24, 1944 in Hamtramck to Walter and Katherine (Wielgusz) Grace. She married Wendell Harmon. She later married Charles Holm. He died May 22, 1995. She married Jim Preppernau.

Karen worked as a licensed practical nurse in the emergency room of McKenzie Hospital, Sandusky. She enjoyed her job in the parts department of the Chrysler Dealership in Cass City. Karen also worked in Dr. Raythatha’s office. She moved to Sun City, AZ and lived for awhile in Mesa, AZ before moving back to Michigan. As a young girl, Karen loved to figure skate and in later years she like to bowl and travel. She always had reality shows playing on the television. Her favorite was “Say Yes to the Dress”.

Karen is survived by her children: Angeleatta Gabelaid of Minden City; Scott (Doris) Harmon of Deford; Melissa Murphy-Harmon of Gastonia, NC; Corey (Kimberlee) Harmon of St. Clair; Derik (Tammy) Harmon of Fairgrove; Chad (Janell) Harmon of Caro; brother, Dennis Grace of Clinton Twp; 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
