Keith Pobanz

October 20, 1939 — January 2, 2010

Keith W. Pobanz, 70, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 2, 2010 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Saginaw. He was born October 20, 1939 in Detroit to Clarence and Evelyn (Kalin) Pobanz . He married Joann Schwartz June 7, 1958 in St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown.

Keith served in the U.S. Air Force after high school. He worked as a car salesman for Chrysler dealerships in Cass City after returning from the service until his retirement. In his retirement he earned his Real Estate license and worked for Kelly & Company Realty. He was a very active member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church where he served as lector. He was also a member of Cass City/Gagetown Knights of Columbus #8892. Keith enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards. He and Joann were a member of a card group for over 40 years. Keith truly loved and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He attended all the sporting and band concerts he was able to. He was a former little league coach for Cass City Little League. Keith loved to travel including trips to Florida, Colorado, Washington, color tour trips and casino trips. They recently returned from an Alaskan cruise they took with their family for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Keith is survived by his wife, Joann; children: Suzanne Pobanz of Bremerton, WA, Kelly Ann (Kelly) Smith of Cass City, Keith (Laura) Pobanz of Columbus, Vickie (Tim) Sontag of Silverdale, WA, Ann Heckroth of Cass City, Rick (Joyce) Pobanz of Bremerton, WA; special nephews and their families: Dale (Dana) Rabideau of Omaha, NE, Dean (Tena) Rabideau of Cass City, Dave (Jen) Rabideau of Snover, Darin (Patricia) Rabideau of Morganton, GA; grandchildren: Nicholas, Jacob, Joshua, Alexandria, Emily, Stephanie, Marie, Cole; special great nieces and great nephews: Delores, Ashleigh, Leah, Dean (D.J.), Isabella, Hannah, Elsa, Bryan and Shiloh; brother, Kenneth (Rita) Pobanz of Mainesville, OH; sisters: Marjorie Baker of Caldonia, Kathleen (Tom) Wojciechowski of Troy; many nieces and nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Jane (Ken) Pincoski of Manton, Janet (Derald) Caister of Elkton. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Christopher Heckroth; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jacob and Genevieve Schwartz; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Delores and Dale Rabideau.

Funeral service held 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Eppenbrock and Sr. Maria Dina Puddu MC officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Pancratius Catholic Church. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Pobanz: Dale Rabideau, Dean Rabideau, Dean (DJ) Rabideau, Dave Rabideau, Darin Rabideau, Kelly Smith, Tim Sontag, Nicholas Smith, Jacob Sontag and Joshua Sontag.
