MARK THOMAS PHILLIPS
Mark Thomas Phillips, 60, of Cass City, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 in his home following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born April 3, 1957 in Cass City to Ronald Richard and Dorothy Ann (Tyo) Phillips.
Mark graduated from Cass City High School and worked for the State of Michigan in the Caro Center as a resident care aid for 27 years. For the past three years he enjoyed working for Bulla Farms where he drove tractor, worked ground and planted. Mark was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing, especially during trips to Quebec, Canada. Mark kept his taxidermist busy with beautiful mounts of his successful hunts. He loved cooking out and the barbecues that he and Don prepared for friends and family.
Mark is survived by his partner, Victoria Schenk of Deford; his daughter, Kelsey (Brad Werth) Phillips of Caro; brother, Don (Jane) Phillips of Deford; two nephews: Kevin Phillips of Deford, Trevor (Ashley) Phillips of Gagetown; one great niece, Breslyn Phillips. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Phillips.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Steven Henry of Fostoria Baptist Church officiating. Pallbearers for Mr. Phillips: Tommy Spencer, Chris Zemke, Aaron Bulla, John Bulla, Jason Spencer, Homer Holmes.
