Dorothy Phillips

Dorothy A. Phillips, 75, of Deford, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 in Covenant Health Care Cooper, Saginaw. She was born October 19, 1933 in Cass City to Forest and Phyllis (Brooks) Tyo. She married Ronald R. Phillips July 26, 1952 in Cass City. He died March 28, 1999.

Dorothy was a telephone operator for many years and later worked at Cass City Chronicle. She enjoyed gardening. Her children and grandchildren were the most important thing in her life.

Dorothy is survived by her sons: Mark Phillips of Deford, Don (Jane) Phillips of Deford; grandchildren: Chad Phillips, Jodi (Jeremy) Krueger, Kelsey Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Trevor Phillips; great grandchildren: Courtney, Craig, Katelyn, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael, and brother, Thomas Tyo.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Debra L. Kranz, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
