JAMES W. PETTY
54, of Bayport, formerly of Kingston, died peacefully Friday, October 1, 2021 in his home surrounded by family. He was born July 4, 1967 in Pontiac to Monte and Carol Sue (Sitzes) Petty.
James attended Kingston High School where he played baseball, football, and trombone with the jazz and marching bands. Two weeks after graduating with the Class of 1985, he enlisted in the United States Army and spent three years with the field artillery division. James then worked for thirty years as an over the road truck driver, a career that took him all over the United States. He enjoyed fishing, and golfing with his dad. James was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves.
James is survived by his parents, Monte and Carol Sue Petty of Kingston; brother, Jeffrey (Anna) Petty of Indianapolis, IN; girlfriend, Christina Gibson of Bayport; uncle, Bob Neighbors of Oxford; many cousins. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Sareta Neighbors.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Military honors conducted by Cass City V.F.W. Post #3644 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kingston AMVETS Post #1072 or the Caro V.F.W. Post #4164.
