MARY LEE PETERS,
75, of Lake Orion, died Monday, August 25, 2014 in Crittenton Hospital, Rochester following a short illness. She was born June 29, 1939 in Decatur, AL to LeeRoy and Reide (Briscoe) Goodwin. She married Murell E. Peters September 24, 1976 in Georgia.
Mary worked for Parke-Davis doing lab work retiring after over 15 years of service. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church, Pontiac. Mary enjoyed working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, camping and traveling. Most important to Mary was spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, Murell; children: Julie (Steve Overton) Gard of Niles, Suzette Williams of Lake Orion, Dee Dee Peters of Marlette, Bryan Peters of Waterford, Cheralee (Terry) Achtabowski of Lapeer, William Peters of Brown City, Shannon (Jeff) Hoseclaw of Marlette; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters: Linda (Dewayne) Morris of Acworth, Georgia, Becky (Clayton) Clemens of Cleveland, AL; brother, William Goodwin of Arab, AL; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, David Williams; sister, Bernice Johnson; sister-in-law, Mattie Goodwin.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Charles Hunley of Missionary Baptist Church, Pontiac officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Peters are: Roger Kritzman, Chuck Kritzman, Fred Kritzman, Roger Stewart, Anthony Jarrett, and Michael Achtabowski.
