FRED JOSEPH PETERS
83, of Lake Havasu, AZ died Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Las Vegas, NV. He was born May 30, 1938 to Harold and Hazel (Kritzman) Peters at the Kritzman homestead farm in Argyle Township, Sanilac County. Fred’s great-grandfather, during which time he was a soldier in the Civil War, was granted this property. He married Mary Miller on July 19, 2013 in Nuevo, CA.
Fred attended Cass City High School, where he was on the wrestling and track teams. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps. after graduating in 1957. He spent his lifetime working in lumber, diesel repair, and trucking businesses in Michigan and California. In his younger years, Fred enjoyed dancing, especially the two-step. He will be remembered as a generous man, always doing favors for others.
Fred is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Beverly (Andy) Boucounis of Manlius, NY; Thomas Peters of Coldwater; Michael Peters of Lakeland, FL; Deanne Casey of FL; stepson, Kurk (Sue) Nulph of Long Beach, WA; seven grandchildren; 2 step great-granddaughters; siblings: David (Kay) Peters of Rotondawest, FL; Dean (Darlene) Peters of Howell; Linda Peters of Roseville, Janet Laszlo of Deford; sister-in-law, Michele Peters of Battle Creek; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Joseph Peters, Michael Peters, Gary Peters, Marilyn Gulley, Alice Peters; brother-in-law, John Laszlo; a niece and two nephews.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Military honors conducted by the Cass City VFW Post #3644. Memorials may be made to Cass City VFW Post #3644. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
