CHRISTOPHER SAMPSON PETERS,
49, of Cass City, died unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident Friday, February 22, 2013 near Houghton Lake. He was born December 25, 1963 in Scheurer Hospital, Pigeon, to Anton and Marilyn (Osborn) Peters. He married Valerie Langenburg April 21, 1990 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City.

Chris graduated from Cass City High School in 1982. He attended Michigan State University receiving an Associate's Degree in Agriculture. He worked as an independent truck driver for many years, most recently employed with JW Hunt Trucking of Bad Axe. Currently Chris and his brother Pat were starting a business together, Michigan Salon Services in Caro. He was a member of Cass City Gavel Club, St. Pancratius Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Cass City-Gagetown Council #8892. Chris enjoyed watching sports but especially loved watching his children play sports. He loved farming, spending time at the cabin on Elbow Lake, riding his snowmobile and motorcycle. Most importantly Chris loved people. He always had a smile or hug for everyone.

Chris is survived by his wife, Valerie; children: Hayley, Karley, Christopher, Eric Peters all of Cass City; Alysha Rutkowski of Columbus, IN, parents: Anton and Marilyn Peters of Cass City; sisters: Cindy Peters of Ann Arbor, Sally (Larry) Peters Sines of Clinton, Joann (Louie) Tauber of Cass City; brother, Patrick (Stephanie) Peters of Caro; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Rita (Robert) Rockwell of Cass City, Barb Langenburg of Livonia, Louie Langenburg of Howell, Sally (Ken) Nicholas of Cass City, Jenny (Karl) Zawilinski of Cass City, Hank (Kelly) Langenburg of Snover, Ann Koosis of Houston, TX, Evelyn (Jeff) Minard of Snover, Sue (Jack) Kappen of Cass City, Brenda (Steve) Reeves of Loveland, OH, Joseph (Colleen) Langenburg of Cass City, Leigh (Sharon) Langenburg of Ubly, Michael (Heather) Langenburg of Cass City, William (Krista) Langenburg of Holly Springs, NC; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in St. Pancratius Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Bala and Sr. Maria Dina Puddu MC officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Pallbearers are: Michael Langenburg, Leigh Langenburg, Joe Langenburg, Larry Sines, Louie Tauber, and Patrick Peters. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
