John R. Perry, 76, of Cass City, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in his home with his family by his side. He was born March 10, 1938 in Cass City to Harold Randolph and Ione H. (Holmberg) Perry. He married Beverly Jean Fischer October 14, 1967. She died December 8, 1978. John later married Beverly J. Hurley May 10, 1980 in Shabbona.
John graduated from Cass City High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. John worked as a carpenter for Saginaw Union Local 334 for more than 35 years. He was a lifelong member of Cass City First Presbyterian Church. John enjoyed reading, golfing and watching football on television especially the MSU Spartans. He truly loved watching his children and grandchildren's sports events.
John is survived by his wife, Bev; sons: Troy (Julie) Perry of Gagetown, Matt Perry of Jackson; grandchildren: Jacob, Nicholas, Alexander, William, Lucas; twin brother, Jerry (Annette) Perry of Radford, VA; sisters: Judy Holt of East Lansing, Janet Fortina of Indian Head Park, IL, Jane (Wayne) Barth of East Lyme, CT; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Linda Graham of Cass City First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Ellington Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cass City First Presbyterian Church, Cass City VFW Post #3644 or Covenant Visiting Nurse Association Hospice.
