BARBARA JEAN PEMBERTON,
86, of Cass City died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in her home. She was born August 18, 1926 in East Liverpool, OH the first and only child of Carl F. and Ruth (Downard) Warning. She married Frank Cleson Pemberton January, 1949 in East Liverpool, OH. He died September 2, 1995.
Barbara was very family oriented. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. The grandchildren would always bring a smile to her face. Barbara loved to read biographies. Barbara and Frank spent a great deal of time at their home in St. Ignace in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. She joined Frank in his love of sailing making many trips with him. Barbara always kept current on world and political affairs by reading her Time and Newsweek subscriptions and her Detroit Free Press. She also kept up on the local news with the paper from St. Ignace. At one time Barbara volunteered for the Michigan Cancer Foundation. She was an over 30 year breast cancer survivor.
Barbara is survived by her daughters: Phyllis Miller of Grosse Pointe Park, Pam Pemberton of Taylor; grandchildren: Terrance Miller and Stacey Miller. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Peter; son-in-law, Mark Miller.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Jackie Roe of Cass City United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to Rawson Memorial Library.
