Phyllis Pelton

Phyllis M. Pelton, 84, of Cass City, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 10, 1919 at home in Austin Township, Sanilac County to Lloyd and Clara (Gibbard) Brown. She married Frank Pelton September 2, 1939 in Pinnebog. He died February 13, 1975.
Phyllis graduated from Cass City High School in 1936. She worked for Walbro for 27 years retiring in 1982. Phyllis was a member of Shabbona United Methodist Church and their United Methodist Women’s group. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and flowers. She loved her family, friends and her cat.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters: Sherryl (Robert) Rich of Deckerville and Karen King of Cass City; grandchildren: Connie (Bob) Marshall, Jeff (Anita) Rich, Brenda (Paul) Warczinsky, Kevin (Latisha) Rich, Kim Sangster, Kris (Tim) Middaugh, Kara (Kevin) Heck; great grandchildren: Trisha, John, James and Tiffany Dials, Michelle and Paul Warczinsky, Ryan and Michael Rich, Jason and Samantha Wald, Kyle and Nicholas Middaugh; great great grandchildren: Alexis and Joseph; brothers: Robert Brown of Cass City, Clare (Georgene) Brown of Ubly, Keith (Joyce) Brown of Ubly; sister, Florence Dyett of Tucson, AZ; sister-in-law, Sue Brown of LaMessa, CA; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers: Billy Brown and H. Jay Brown; brother-in-law, Norris Dyett; sister-in-law, Marion Brown.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2004 in Shabbona United Methodist Church, Shabbona with Rev. Ellen Burns officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to Shabbona United Methodist Church Building Fund or United Hospice of Marlette. Pallbearers for Mrs. Pelton: Kevin Rich, Jeff Rich, Paul Warczinsky, Tim Middaugh, Kevin Heck, and Jason Wald.
