Louella B. Parrott, 91, of Caro, died Monday, June 25, 2012 in Satchell's Christian Retirement Home. She was born March 12, 1921 in Pontiac to Lewis and Florence (Silverthorn) Sherwood. She married Gail Linwood Parrott in Detroit on December 5, 1939. He died October 23, 2002.
Louella worked as an office administrator for GTE first in the Cass City office then in Imlay City and finally in Davison, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of Cass City First Baptist Church and recently First Baptist Church of Caro. She enjoyed playing guitar, accordion, organ and piano. Her children included Louella in many of their motorcycle & snowmobile outings. She loved spending time in her flower gardens. Louella loved and cared for many dogs over the years including St. Bernards and Toy Poodles.
Louella is survived by her sons: Ronald (Wanda) Parrott of Mio, Robert (Carol) Parrott of Decker, Richard Parrott of Cass City; grandchildren: Tamara Sonnenberg, Ron (Mindy) Parrott, Jr., Deborah (Alan) Reames, Richard (Sara) Parrott, II, Lindi (Peter) Thayer; great grandchildren: Jeremy, Micaela and Raelyn Sonnenberg, Briana and Bradyn Parrott, Melissa (Michael) Ashford and Daniel Reames, Skylar, Nataya, David, Dylan, Benjamin and Lincoln Parrott, Grace, Rachel, Evangelina and Samuel Thayer; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Deborah Parrott; grandson-in-law, John Sonnenberg; great grandson, Seth Thayer; sisters: Onnellee Hamlett, Rosalind Moore
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Ronald Wigand, First Baptist Church of Caro, officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Parrott: Richard Parrott, Ronald Parrott, Robert Parrott, Ron Parrott, Jr., Richard Parrott, II, David Parrott, Larry Thane and Jerry Hillaker.
