Deborah J. Parrott, 61, of Cass City, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 in her home with her family by her side. She was born October 3, 1950 in Cass City to Bruce and Dorothy (Sangster) Wentworth. She married Richard J. Parrott I in Cass City on December 11, 1971 and was looking forward to celebrating 40 years of marriage.
Deb graduated from Cass City High School in 1968 and later attended Cosmetology school in Bay City. In 1981 she started as the Cass City First Baptist Church secretary where she gave over 30 years of service. Deb enjoyed all kinds of crafts, crossword puzzles, reading, working in her garden and decorating cakes that so many in the community have been able to enjoy. Above all else, it was Deb's love for the Lord that was most important to her. It was that love that gave her the strength to care so tenderly for Rick for more than 25 years. Deb loved her children and grandchildren and has passed a legacy of love and faithfulness to them. As she became tired and weak, Deb was still concerned about others. It was Deb's desire for all to know the redeeming power of God's love and forgiveness and to be prepared for eternity by knowing Jesus as their Savior.
Deb is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Richard J. (Sara) Parrott II of Cass City; daughter, Lindi E. (Peter) Thayer of Cass City; grandchildren: Skylar, Nataya, David, Dylan, Benjamin, Lincoln, Grace, Rachel, Evangelina, Samuel; mother, Dorothy Wentworth of Deford; brothers: Rod (Sheryl) Wentworth of Lapeer, James Wentworth of Deford; sisters: Darlene (Jeffery) Parsell of Cass City, Janice (Gary) Warju of Alma; mother-in-law, Louella Parrott of Caro; brothers-in-law: Ronald (Wanda) Parrott of Mio, Robert (Carol) Parrott of Decker; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Bruce Wentworth; grandson, Seth Nathaniel Thayer; father-in-law, Gail Parrott.
