Mildred Parker

Mildred I. Parker, 78, of Decker, died suddenly in her home on Friday, May 13, 2011. She was born September 23, 1932 in Cass City to Jay C. and Mae Belle (Rondo) Hartley. She married Earl Leroy Parker December 5, 1953 at the Lamton parsonage in Decker. He died March 17, 1982.

Mildred attended country school as a young girl. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener. The fruits of Mildred’s garden were a tremendous benefit to her family and preserved by her love and skill of canning. She also enjoyed cooking and working crossword puzzles. But above all else, Mildred found particular joy in her horses.

Mildred is survived by her children: Ellen Parker Horne of Cass City, Randy Parker of Mayville, Andy Parker of Decker, Karen (Thomas) Barr of Decker; grandchildren: Michele, Melissa (Rob), Candice, Lisa (George), Andrew II (Shannon), Jeremy, Sheilah, Kayla, Tera (Kevin), Tommy (April), Trisha (Joshua); great grandchildren: Nicholas, Ariel, Darren, Wyatt, Charley, Alex, Ryan, Jackson, Trey, Joshua, Nolah, Glennah, Arianah, Thomas VI, Gloriana, David, Logan; sisters: Alice Marie Cybulski, Louella Lyle; brother, Johnny Hartley. She is preceded in death by her sons: Gary Lee Parker, Lary Floyd Parker; granddaughter, Kelda; sister, Clara Cybulski; brother, Carl Hartley.

Funeral service held 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 in Kranz Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Carr, Cass City First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Ellington Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Pallbearers for Mrs. Parker: Andy Parker, Randy Parker, Jeremy Parker, Andrew J. Parker II, Nicholas Horne, Rob Dickson.
