WILBUR GLENN PALMER
85, of Cass City, died following a brief illness Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Medilodge of Cass City. He was born October 30, 1934 in Ithaca the first of five sons born to Glenn and Doris
(Sailor) Palmer. He married Betty Jean Auvil August 26, 1995 in the Methodist church in Gagetown. They were married for 24 years.
Wilbur graduated from Ithaca High School. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army while stationed in Germany. Wilbur worked as a manager for Farmer’s Petroleum in Sandusky. He later worked for Gemini Plastics, Inc. of Ubly until retiring. Wilbur was skilled at woodworking and made many birdhouses and country style tables. He loved to spend time birdwatching.
Wilbur is survived by his children: Michael (Melinda) Palmer of Thornville, OH; Michelle (Jeff) Hanby of Cass City; Rhonda (Scott) Gallier of Lake Zurich, IL; Betty Palmer of Caro, step-children: Bryan (Sue) Toner of Cass City; Brett Toner of Burlington, Ontario; Brandon (Angela) Toner of Ubly, MI; twelve grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers: Lee (Beth) Palmer of Ithaca; Daniel (Eileen) Palmer of Ithaca; Sam (Joyce) Palmer of Ithaca. He is preceded in death by his brother, Victor Palmer; grandson, Caleb Hanby.
Memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 in Cass City Missionary Church with Pastor Phil Burkett officiating.
