Gloria L. Ouvry, 73, of East Lansing, died unexpectedly while on vacation with her daughter Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in Skyline Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. She was born February 12, 1937 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania to Luke and Catherine (Sauers) Banks. She married Aime Ouvry March 7, 1969 in East Detroit. He died October 30, 1981.

Gloria, along with her husband Aime, owned Ouvry Chevrolet Olds Inc. from 1972 to 1986, working as office manager. She then owned and operated Keystone Automotive in East Detroit. She was a founding member of both the Bach Festival and the 4th of July Festival in Cass City. She was the first female member of the Cass City Rotary, a member of the Cass City Chamber of Commerce, the Michigan Automotive Dealers Association, and the National Automotive Dealers Association. Gloria was interested in genealogy. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a voracious reader.

Gloria is survived by her children: Sean (Marty) Zawilinski of Cass City, William (Thelma) Ouvry of Easley, South Carolina, Kelly Ouvry-Burleson of Sebewaing, Tracey (Thomas) Mullaney of East Lansing; grandchildren: Heather (Tyler) Steimel, Joshua Ouvry, Addam (Summer) Ouvry, Heath (Jill) Zawilinski, Emily (Brandon) Bewley, Sarah Zawilinski, Aime Warack, Taylor Burleson, Emma Mullaney, Meghan Mullaney, Harper Mullaney; great grandchildren: Sierra, Corbin, Andrew, Dominic, Ethan, Landyn, McKenna; step children: Nancy (Richard) Kitchen of Wyoming, Donald Ouvry of Cass City, Ronald (Karen) Ouvry of Cass City, Debra (Joseph) Hart of Wyoming; step grandchildren: Andrew (Marisa) Kitchen, Robert (Amanda) Kitchen, Shelly (Greg) Erla, Melissa Tjiens, Jeffrey (Joyy) Ouvry, Brooke (Lane) Walker, Ryan (Katie) Ouvry, Ashley (Kyle) Greenwood, Kevin Ouvry, Benjamin Hart, Louie Hart, Maria Hart, Addison Hart; step great grandchildren: Brianna, Hannah, Liv, Paige, Reilly, Ben, James, Abby, Gracie, Molly; sister, Cathy (Gary) Meyer of Punta Gorde, Florida; brother-in-law, Kenneth Simmons of St. Clair Shores; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Simmons and great grandson, Connor Wright.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Rev. Randall Russell of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers: Heather Steimel, Emily Ouvry, Sarah Zawilinski, Aime Warack, Emma Mullaney, Meghan Mullaney. Active pallbearers: William Ouvry, Martin Zawilinski, Thomas Mullaney, Mark Fruhner, Addam Ouvry, Heath Zawilinski, Taylor Burleson, Michael Fruhner, Joshua Ouvry.
