Lucille Maxine Ostrander, 95 of Cass City passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at Medilodge of Cass City on Sunday evening, August 7, 2016. She was born April 23, 1921 in Yale, to the late Walter C. and Sarah (Parker) Groat.

Lucille accepted Christ at age 12 in Brown City, MI at the Baptist church. She married Harvey J. Ostrander, October 4, 1941. Lucille loved being a homemaker and was a devoted mother to her seven children. Her children agree she was an outstanding role model right up to the end. Her thirteen grandchildren often remark that “grandma loved us unconditionally.” Lucille was loved by all who knew her and she quickly made friends wherever she lived. She has been a resident of Cass City for the past 43 years. During her time in Cass City she worked at Provincial House (now Medilodge) as a housekeeper for 12 1/2 years. Lucille will be remembered as someone always ready to help others. She was a beloved, long-time member of First Baptist Church in Cass City where she attended and served faithfully. She was a faithful prayer warrior for the benefit of her family, neighbors, friends, and church family. Up until the very end Lucille continued her phone and card ministries.
