ELIZABETH ANN "BETTY" OSENTOSKI,
79, of Cass City, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in Tendercare Nursing Facility, Cass City. She was born June 29, 1935 in Detroit, the first child born to David and Eleanore (Ostrowski) Osentoski.
After high school Betty worked at Dibbles in Bad Axe before beginning a job at the Ubly High School Cafeteria where she worked for 14 years. She later worked as a nurse's aide and phlebotomist in the lab at Huron Memorial Hospital for 30 years retiring in 1998. Betty was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly since she was 8 years old. There she was an active choir member and commissioned lay minister. Betty was known for her talent in helping with the church decorations. After moving to Cass City she became a member of St. Pancratius Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, sewing, and crocheting.
Betty is survived by her siblings: Richard (Esther) Osentoski of Richmond, Evelyn (Dick) Clor of Otter Lake, Ken (Lois) Osentoski of St. Johns, Donald Osentoski of Cass City, Mary Ann Osentoski of Cass City; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Pancratius Catholic Church, Cass City with Rev. Christian Tabares officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Ubly. Memorials may be made to Our Lady Consolata Parish, Arthritis Foundation, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or Heartland Hospice.
