Charles O'Dell

Charles C. O’Dell, 79, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Monday, October 22, 2018 in Lapeer Regional Hospital. He was born June 4, 1939 in Caro to Clayton Howard and Raiola Mae (Putman) O’Dell. He married his childhood sweetheart, Joanne Marie Miller November 8, 1957 in Sutton Sunshine Methodist Church.

Chuck graduated Cass City High School in 1957. In early years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Vaughn Construction in Caro. Chuck also worked for Pontiac Motors and for General Cable until starting his own excavating business in the Cass City area. He enjoyed deer hunting with friends. Chuck was fond of snowmobiles and fast motorcycles. He enjoyed traveling and meeting people all over the world.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Joanne O’Dell and their children: Kimberly (Greg) Frank of Cass City; Ronald (Donna) O’Dell of Monroe; Robert (Shari) O’Dell of Cass City; Kristine (Anthony) Adams of Cass City; grandchildren: Nathan (Sara) Hendrick, Elissa Hendrick (Matt Chippi), Megen (Bradley) Kloska, Mitchel (Jade Parker) O’Dell, Michael Adams, Alexander Adams, Mariya (Jeff) Gessner; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Carson (EllaJane) O’Dell of Caro; sister, Janice Winter of Cass City; brother-in-law, Gary (Mary) Miller of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, David O’Dell.

Funeral service held 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Steve Bagnall of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating.
