M. Frances Nichols, 84, of Decker, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 in Covenant Cooper, Saginaw. She was born August 10, 1926 in Grant Township, Webster Co., MO to Walter and Mable (Jeffers) Atkinson. She married Harley Nichols December 7, 1962 in Miami, OK. He died June 6, 2000.
Fran worked at General Cable in Cass City for many years. She retired from Snover Stamping at the time of its closing. Fran was a hard worker and together with her husband raised beef cattle. Fran especially loved her dog, Puddin’.
Fran is survived by her sons: Larry (Cathy) Smith of Cass City, Craig (Rebecca) Alexander of Rogersville, MO; grandchildren: Michele (Nick) Pohlod, Christy (Marty) Bosserman; great grandchildren: Kelsey Pohlod, Payton Bosserman, Ashley Bosserman and Parker Bosserman; niece, Angie (Keith) Gray; sister, Jean; sister-in-law, Kathleen Bresky; many good friends and neighbors including: Wayne and Evelyn Whittaker, the Leslie family, Ron and Joyce Sandage, Joyce Hagan. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Bonnie Boyles; brothers: Burt Atkinson and Guy Atkinson.
Graveside service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
