GERALD M. NICHOL
Gerald M. Nichol, 75, of Hale, formerly of Kingston, died Saturday, October 8, 2005 in his home in Hale. He was born June 4, 1930 in Sandusky to Lee and Bessie Irene (Markel) Nichol. He married Elsie Weeder March 5, 1949 in Carsonville. She died February 13, 1994. Gerald then married Karen Donnelly.
Gerald came home to work on the family farm and lumber mill after his grandmothers death in the 50’s. He was a truck driver working for Sargeant Construction, Harold Causley and for himself as an independent truck driver. Gerald was a former member of the Mayville Moose Lodge and the Caro AERIE Eagles #3587. He loved hunting and fishing. Gerald had a great sense of humor and kept everyone entertained.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Karen; children: Gary (Judy) Nichol of Mayville, Ronald (Brenda) Nichol of Vassar, Edwin (Annette) Nichol of Hale; daughter-in-law, Portia Nichol of Sandusky; step-children: Kim (Mark) Neumann of Kingston, Jay Donnelly of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren: Heidi (Scott) Germain, Heather (Jon) Mathews, Dan (Kim) Nichol, Jennifer (Dave) Heinlein, Gary M. Nichol, David Miller, Jason Miller, Ronald Nichol II, James �"Rick” Nichol, Anjanette (Doug) Swift; step-grandchildren: Nickie Shafor, Crystal Shafor, Roxanne Neumann, Kevin Neumann, Jackie Reidel, Jenny Reidel, Amy Reidel; great grandchildren: Adam, Hunter, Megan, Jayruh, Austin, Joshua, Paige, Tyler, Alexander; brothers: Vern Nichol of Zephyr Hills, FL, Jim (Mary) Nichol of Deckerville, Burt (Judy) Nichol of Hale; sisters: Arlene Riech of Sandusky, Patsy (Vern) Bracken of Sandusky; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sons: Max Gerald Nichol, David Nichol; great grandchildren: Quintin and Hallie Swift; step-son, Paul Reidel.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2005 in Kranz Funeral Home Kingston with Pastor James Plocher of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Vassar officiating. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Interment is in East Dayton Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Nichol are: Daniel Nichol, James Nichol, Ronald Nichol II, Jon Mathews, Dave Heinlein, Jay Donnelly.
