Joann Nemeth

February 28, 1939 — July 15, 2011

JOANN MARIE NEMETH,
72, of Caseville, formerly of Cass City, died following a long illness Friday, July 15, 2011 in her home in Caseville. She was born February 28, 1939 in Detroit to Walter and Dorothy (Beatty) Pagel. She married Charles William Nemeth III May 1, 1970 in Caro.

Joann worked for Yale Rubber for a time then for Marshall Distributing in Cass City retiring after 27 years. She was a very hardworker, a spotless housekeeper, a generous and goodhearted person. Joann was one of the founding members of the Lucky Thumb Motorcycle Club and a member of the Caseville F.O.E. #3690. Joann loved the lake and everything about it. She enjoyed swimming, working in her flower beds and just being in the sun. She loved and collected lighthouses. She especially loved the Charity Island Lighthouse and visited several times. Joann was an unconventional Grandma. When the grandchildren came for a summer visit to the Caseville cottage Joann was right in the water with them swimming and splashing like the kids. Joann was a avid reader. She read many kinds of books but especially enjoyed Gothic books. She went all out for every holiday. Decorating inside and out for each occasion. Christmas was her favorite but Easter and Halloween brought about special decorations and celebrations also. Joann was a kid at heart.

Joann is survived by her husband, Charles; children: Ronald (Vicki) Stolzman of Decker, Suzy Phillips of Sandusky; step-daughter, Theresa (Larry) Russell of Attica; grandchildren: Dustin Stolzman of Ann Arbor, Kimberly Stolzman of Bay City; Kevin Phillips of Seattle, WA, Craig (Stephannie) Phillips of Sandusky, Carmen (Kevin) Perrault of North Carolina; step-grandchildren: Clare Russell of Attica, Nolan Russell of Attica; great grandchildren: Ceirra, Ashton, Logan and Gavin; brother, Charles Pagel of Sandusky; nieces and nephews: Cindy Leinhart of Lansing, Rhonda Pagel of Grand Ledge, Richard Jones of Caro; great nieces and nephews: Haley, Tyler, Adam and Bradon.
