EDWARD THEODORE NEMETH,
85, of Kingston, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in Covenant Medical Center, Cooper Campus, Saginaw. He was born January 8, 1934 at home on the family farm in Deford the youngest of five sons born to Charles and Veron (Kocsis) Nemeth, Sr.. He married Wilda Ruth Zemke February 26, 1955, in Caro. She died December 9, 2003.
Ed graduated from Cass City High School with the class of 1952. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ed worked at the elevator in Deford, for Active Industries then for Saginaw Steering Gear retiring after 30 years of service. For a short time, Ed worked as janitor for Kingston Community Schools. In the early years Ed was a Little League coach. He raised rabbits and enjoyed woodworking. Ed was a member of the Kingston Lions Club and volunteered as a “lunch buddy” at Kingston Elementary School mentoring and reading with students there. In the later years he enjoyed “coffee hour” with friends and feeding birds who visited his bird feeders. But most important to Ed were family gatherings with his children, grandchildren and extended family.
Ed is survived by his children: James (Trish) Nemeth of Wyoming, MI, Sherry (Eric) Fischer of Perry, Sue Nemeth of Kingston, Scott (Lori) Nemeth of Harrison Township, Steve (Kim) Nemeth of Marietta, GA; grandchildren: Matt Nemeth, Natalie (AJ) Quimby, Brandon (Dominique) Nemeth, Aaron (Kaitlyn Mullinex) Fischer, Brianna (Barry Prichard) Fischer, Kayla Nemeth, Avery Nemeth, Reed Nemeth; great grandchildren: Grace, Dane, Matthew, Lilly, Daisy, Luke and Logan; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas Allen Nemeth and his four brothers.
Funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Rev. Mark Harriman of Kingston United Methodist Church officiating. Interment is in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kingston Lions Club or Family Discretionary Fund.
