THOMAS JAMES NELSON,
64, of Kingston, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 13, 2009 in Caro Community Hospital, Caro. He was born September 16, 1944 in Pontiac to Walter and Marguerite (Beggs) Nelson. He married Sue Ellen Kurtz May 20, 1963 in Keego Harbor.

Tom worked for Pontiac Motors in Pontiac as a Machine Oiler retiring after 30 years. He was a member of the UAW, serving more than once as Committee Man. Tom enjoyed fishing, cutting firewood, camping and watching Western Movies. Tom found the greatest joy in his life through his family. He loved the many trips to Canada with family to fish and bear hunt. Tom was a gentle man and had a big heart; he will be missed by his entire family.

Tom is survived by his wife, Sue; children: Ronald Nelson of Kingston; Jeremy Lounsberry of Kingston, Gary (Lisa) Watkins of Constantine; sisters: Margaret (Robert) Leibler of Milford, Jeanette Phillips of Decatur, IN; brothers: John (Janice) Nelson of Waterford, Harry (Lori) Nelson of Kentucky; sisters-in-law: Linda Bowman of Sturgis, Debra Kula of Kingston; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rosemary Nelson.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009 in Kranz Funeral Home Kingston with Rev. Paul Donelson of Cass City United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kingston Fire and Rescue. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
