JAMES “JIM” LEROY NEAL, SR.
86, of Casa Grande, AZ; formerly of Cass City, died in the early hours of April 5, 2023 after a brief battle with acute leukemia. He was born June 16, 1936 in Fairgrove to Deloss and Anna Neal. He married Joyce Ann Morell on February 2, 1957 in Gagetown United Methodist Church. She died July 10, 2020.
Jim had a successful career as operations manager of Agrico in Bay City, MI and Coulton Chemical in Toledo, OH. He was an avid golfer and loved organizing outings for family and friends. In retirement, Jim and Joyce built homes in Tennessee and Florida, but ultimately returned to their roots in Michigan’s “Thumb”. Always one to stay busy, he also enjoyed part-time work at Whiteford Valley and helping drive neighbors to their appointments.
He is survived by his children: Janet (Mike) Darrah, Jim (Joe) Neal Jr., Jeanne (Fred) Quinn, and Jackie (Tom) VanTress; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley (Danny) Haag, Jeanette Lapeer; sister-in-law, Janice Neal. He and was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of sixty-two years, Joyce and brother Edward.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Elkland Township Cemetery with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating.
