NANCY LOU COPELAND
Nancy L. Copeland, 87, of Kingston, died Monday, January 22, 2024 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born March 11, 1936 in Battle Creek to Leo James and Grace Emily (Coon) Barrett.
Nancy was a school bus driver for Kingston Community Schools and Darby Schools for forty years. She volunteered at the Human Development Commission driving seniors for several years. A talented seamstress, Nancy did alterations at Ashers Men’s Shop in Caro. She also crocheted numerous lap robes for residents in the VA Hospital and the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. Nancy grew beautiful outdoor flowers and made various ceramics. She was a member of the Kingston Community Church and the Polish American Club.
Nancy is survived by her children: Curt (Kim) Copeland of Kingston; Lori (Robin) King of Kingston; Cari (Joe) Syms of Clifford; grandchildren: Stephanie (Tim) Randall of Caro; Bobbi (Jeremy) Rayl of Kingston; Jeremy (Heather) King of Kingston; John Ferkowicz of Silverwood; Jimmy (Alisha) Ferkowicz of Silverwood; Nicole (JT) Weirauch of Silverwood; Daniel Copeland of Caro; Brad Syms of Brookhaven, MS; Krystle Syms of Houston, TX; eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny Dean Copeland; granddaughter, Rhonda King; long time companion, Frank Kapral.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Kingston Community Church with Pastor Bill Seitz officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery in the spring. Pallbearers for Nancy are her grandchildren: Stephanie, Bobbi, Jeremy, John, Jimmy, Nicole, Daniel. Memorials may be made to the Kingston High School Scholarship Fund.
