Ted E. Morgan, 76, of Snover, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 in St. Marys Medical Center, Saginaw. He was born March 31, 1928 in Brighton to Scott and Lucille (Palmer) Morgan. He married Marilyn J. Loney April 22, 1950 in Cass City.
Ted graduated from Pershing High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served during World War II, stationed in China. He was a dairy farmer. Ted was a member of the Masonic Lodge Tyler #317 in Cass City, the Michigan Draft Horse Association, Thumb Area Antique Auto Club, Thumb Area Gas Engine Club, and Cass City United Methodist Church. Ted was one of the original members of the Evergreen Township Zoning Board and was a former trustee of the Evergreen Township Board and the Evergreen Township School Board. He was a former 4H Leader and substitute mail carrier. Ted enjoyed collecting old and antique auto parts. He was the sexton of the Elkton Township Cemetery, a position he held for 20 years, until his retirement in 1997.
Ted is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children: Ellen Kay Curtiss of Cass City, James Phillip Morgan of Decatur, TX; grandchildren: Delynn Morgan, Susan K. (Josh) Sorenson, Carolyn Ann OHara, Kristen Curtiss; Nancy (Jim) Vernon of Marlette; brother, Thomas (Linda) Morgan of Marlette; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Philip Scott Morgan and his parents.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Cass City United Methodist Church, with Rev. George Ward officiating. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or St. Judes Childrens Foundation. Pallbearers for Mr. Morgan: Tom Morgan, Ralph Morgan, Dewayne Jones, Al Lowe, Bill Zinnecker, Dale Bader. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery.
