Raymond J. Moore, 92, of Kingston died following a short illness Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Caro Community Hospital. He was born January 17, 1920 at home in Kingston the third son of Burrell and Nina (Rathka) Moore. He married Edna P. Hubbard June 16, 1944 in her father's church in Kingston.
Raymond graduated from Kingston High School. He worked for Eaton Manufacturing in Vassar retiring after 21 years. In 1964 Raymond became partners with his two brothers when they bought the Moore Service Station from their father. Raymond was a very active member of Kingston Wesleyan Church serving on the church board for many years and also serving as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was also a member of the Kingston Wesleyan Men's Club. Raymond enjoyed gardening and helping friends and family paint their homes.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Edna; sons: Wayne (Janet) Moore of Kingston, Robert (Helen) Moore of Jackson; grandchildren: Kimberly (Ray) Bruton, Jennifer (Jay) Horsfall, Ron (Tara Chorba) Moore, Don (Teri) Moore, Angela (David) Hernandez; great grandchildren: Raygan, Rylie, Darby, Zeke, Chloe, Darian, Lincoln, Taylor, Colton, Taylor; brother-in-law, Wesley (Roxie) Hubbard of Portage; sisters-in-law: Geneva (Joe) MacIntyre of Bakersfield, CA, Pauline Hubbard of Elk Grove, CA; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers and their wives: Stanley and Irene Moore, Arnold and Cora Moore; brother-in-law, Walter Hubbard; sister-in-law, Elizabeth McCool Calhoun.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Pastor Len Wyatt officiating. Interment is in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Moore: Ron Moore, Don Moore, Jay Horsfall, Jason McCool, Joel Montei, Paul VanHorn. Memorials may be made to Kingston Wesleyan Church.
