IRENE MARIE MOORE
Irene M. Moore, 94, of Kingston, died following a long illness, Saturday, March 15, 2008 in Masonic Pathways of Alma. She was born January 11, 1914 in Novesta Township to Herbert D. and Charlotte M. (Recor) Quick. She married Stanley B. Moore December 12, 1936 in Stanley’s parent’s home in Kingston. He died July 5, 1994.
Irene worked for Fischer Body Pontiac in the cut and sew department from 1935 until 1942 after Pearl Harbor. She was a very active member of the Kingston Wesleyan Church. Irene truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Irene enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining.
Irene is survived by her two daughters: Janice (Jerry) Ordway of Owosso, Ellen (Donald) Carlson of Shepherd; half-brothers: Rex D. (Lola) Hicks of Kettering, OH, Howard (Hilda) Hicks of Pontiac; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gerald Grindley; brothers: Orville Quick, Harold Quick; sister, Marion Boshears; step-brothers: Frank Hicks, Vern Hicks; step-sister, Violet Doyle.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in Kingston Wesleyan Church with Rev. Len Wyatt officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Moore are: Joel Montei, Arlo Ruggles, George Pryor, Dennis Rieck, Cliff Collins, Scott Boyl. Memorials may be made to Kingston Wesleyan Church.
