LLOYD WILFRED MONTREUIL, JR.
Lloyd W. Montreuil Jr., 77, of Cass City died following a brief illness Thursday, March 23, 2017 in St. Mary's of Michigan, Saginaw. He was born December 10, 1939 in Detroit to Lloyd Wilfred and Marie (Phaelan) Montreuil, Sr. He married Judith Leona Wakefield August 29, 1964 in Cass City.
Lloyd graduated from Owendale High School in 1959 and worked on his family farm until he joined the Army. He served as a Private First Class during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was honorably discharged. Lloyd worked as a transmission inspector for Pontiac Motors and later transferred to the Flint Buick Plant. After retiring from GM Lloyd went on to work for Michigan Sugar in Caro. He enjoyed working in his garden and was proud of his tomatoes, hot peppers and zucchinis.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Judith; sons: Donald (Patti) Montreuil of Gagetown, Kevin Montreuil of Cass City, Martin (Jackie) Montreuil of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren: Holly Brooks, Janet Montreuil, Monica Montreuil, Eric Montreuil, Kayla Montreuil, Rod Wakefield, Michael Keyser, Heidi Wakefield; seven great children; sisters: Kathleen Olsen of Sacramento, Ca; Carolyn Wangrud of Oklahoma City, OK; Linda Brooks of Georgia; brother in laws: Robert (Patricia) Jordan; Dalbert (Nancy) Wright; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son Rodney Wakefield; grandson Matthew Keyser. .
Funeral service held Monday, March 27 , 2017 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
