LAWRENCE GEORGE MINERS,
71, of Kingston died following a short illness Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in James E. Cartwright Care Center, Saginaw. He was born November 22, 1940 in Emmett to Clarence and Loretta Mae (Gage) Miners. He married Doris Marie Wheaton June 12, 1989 in Caro.
Larry worked for Active Homes for nearly 20 years as a carpenter. He was a talented carpenter and woodworker. Larry also enjoyed working on old cars. He played the guitar and fiddle and sang for his own enjoyment and for others to enjoy.
Larry is survived by his wife, Doris; children: Terry Lee (Ray) Johnson of Caro, Daniel Miners of Flint, Susan (Lenny Spencer) Miners of Roscommon; mother of his children, Shirley May Nash; step-children: Joseph Gonzales of Caro, Tracy (Greg) Dennis of Kingston, Angela Gonzales of Caro, Mary (Ken) Lloyd of Mayville, Michael (Tammy) Gonzales of Caro; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; sister, Vi Hill of Oscoda; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment is in Kingston Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Miners: Ryan Miners, Shawn Miners, Joshua Johnson, Eric Johnson, Jessy Johnson, and Robert Johnson. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
