Pauline Milligan, 92, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Monday, March 10, 2003 in her home. She was born May 20, 1910 in Cass City to Robert and Grace (Karr) Knight. She married James A. Milligan November 25, 1944 in her home in Cass City.
Pauline was born, raised and lived in her home for virtually all of her life. She graduated from Cass City High School in 1927 and Michigan State College in 1931. She was a school teacher for Fairgrove, Unionville, Port Huron and Cass City schools. Pauline taught Home Economics and was in charge of the hot lunch program. She was a member of Cass City First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking and sharing her food with others.
Pauline is survived by her husband, James A.; sons: Dr. Robert Milligan (Dr. Sharon Danes) of St. Paul, MN, David (Kristine) Milligan of Cass City; grandchildren: Adam Milligan, Samuel Milligan, Michael Milligan, Elisabeth Milligan. She is preceded in death by her sisters: Vernita Knight, Lucile Knight, Elisabeth Althauser; brother in law, William Althauser.
Funeral services held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Cass City First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Mark Morningstar of Sandusky Presbyterian Church, Sandusky officiating. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cass City First Presbyterian Church, Rawson Memorial Library or Thumb Octagon Barn.
