JAMES ALEXANDER MILLIGAN
James A. Milligan, 92, of Cass City, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit. He was born March 16, 1914 in Cass City to Alex and Mary (Brown) Milligan. He married Pauline Knight November 24, 1944 in Pauline’s home in Cass City. She died March 10, 2003.
Jim’s family settled in Cass City coming here from Scotland. He was an area farmer all his life. Jim liked to travel, attending several World Fairs and traveling to Scotland and New Zealand. He was a member of Cass City First Presbyterian Church and served as a church elder.
Jim is survived by his sons: Dr. Robert Milligan (Dr. Sharon Danes) of St. Paul, MN, David (Kristine) Milligan of Cass City; grandchildren: Adam Milligan, Samuel Milligan, Michael Milligan, Elisabeth Milligan; sister, Marjorie Karr of Gagetown; niece, Ellen Wallace; nephews: Jon Oatley, Brian Oatley, Arnold Karr, Dale Karr, Colin Oatley, Kurt Karr. He is preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Harold Oatley; brother-in-law, Leonard Karr.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2006 in Cass City First Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Blackburn, officiating. Memorials may be made to Cass City First Presbyterian Church, Octagon Barn or Rawson Memorial Library. Interment will take place in Elkland Township Cemetery.
