Patricia J. Michels, 66, of Bay City, died Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Brian’s House, Bay City, after a long illness. She was born February 5, 1944 in Manistique to Edward and Merle Catherine (Squires) Popour.
Pat had worked as a nurse in Harbor Beach Community Hospital. She was an elder in the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and playing bingo. Pat loved her family.
Pat is survived by her children: Tamara (Dave) Richardson of Bay City, Richard Green of Unionville, Bryan (Suzy) Green of Fenton, Todd (Becky) Green of Whittemore, Eric Michels of Whittemore, Karl Michels of Unionville, Joseph Michels of Bay City, Jason Michels of Unionville; 22 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brothers: Wilfred “Pete” Popour of Orange Park, FL; Garth (Martha) Popour of Port Hope, David Popour of Essexville; sisters: Donna (Clarence) Osentoski of Pigeon, Sharon (Glen) Hunter of Haines City, FL, Sandra (Chuck) Heit of Mesick; special friend, David Wheeler of Unionville; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Wendy Orzel officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery.
