MARGIE PAULINE MEREDITH,
84, of Sandusky, formerly of Snover, died Monday, August 26, 2013 in her son's home in Sandusky. She was born October 22, 1928 in Louisville, KY to Paul and Katie (Scarcelli) Scott. She married Doyle Haag Meredith January 30, 1946 in Detroit. He died May 2, 1995.
Margie's work history includes working for Piper Industries in Roseville, Grinnell Screw Products in Roseville, Kowalski Meats in Detroit and Vegas Supermarket in Detroit. Margie was a volunteer lunch mother at Detroit Bethesda Christian School, honored for her many years of service. Over the years she took many adult religious education classes through Bethesda Christian School. After moving to the Cass City Snover area Margie was a charter member of Caro Assembly of God. She served as a Sunday School teacher, cleaned the church and helped with many meals provided by the church. Margie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, word search puzzles, canning, playing Skipbo, Rummy and walking her dogs, Sam, Sonny and Buddy. She was a member of the DAVA. Margie was an avid Detroit Tiger Baseball fan and enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby on television. Raising her children was a great love to Margie. She enjoyed spending time with them and attending their sporting events.
Margie is survived by her children: Doyle (Kathy) Meredith of Clinton Township, Glenna Lerner of St. Clair Shores, Roger (Hendrika) Meredith of Grand Rapids, Wayne Meredith of Sterling Heights, Bruce Meredith of Punta Gorde, FL, Joseph Meredith of Sandusky, Lee Meredith of Swartz Creek; grandchildren: Tyler Meredith, Albert Lerner, Mindy Shields, Michael Lerner, Matthew Meredith, Amanda Meredith, Rachael (Colin) Foster, Kathleen Meredith, Doyle Meredith III, Anthony Meredith; 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Mary Divico of St. Augustine, FL, Josie Gibson of Ormond Beach, FL, Cathy Paparelli of Mesa, AZ; brothers: Paul Scott of Troy, Tony Scott of Ormond Beach, FL. She is preceded in death by her sons: Jay Allan and Dale; daughter, Jane Alice; grandsons: Joseph and Steven; sisters: Fran Bramos, Lizzie Swaine and Barbara Aurelli.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Caro Assembly of God, Caro with Rev. David Dietzel officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mrs. Meredith: Tyler Meredith, Doug West, Bryson West, Bryan West, Brandon West, Justin Kalamajka, Anna Goodfellow, Albert Lerner and Michael Lerner.
