Judy A. Merchant, 76, of Cass City, died Saturday, January 21, 2023 in her home. She was born May 8, 1946 in Cass City to Floyd and Martha (Preba) Nicholas. She married Donald “Larry” Merchant on April 4, 1964 in First Presbyterian Church of Cass City.
Judy attended Cass City Schools. She was a homemaker, raised her two sons, and worked the farm with Larry. Judy was an incredibly hard worker and prided herself on keeping her house and yard clean. She enjoyed mowing the grass, and naturally it had to be perfect. Judy was a great cook and baker. Her sons will always remember the taste of her cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed renovated houses especially the wallpaper, paint, and the decorating. Judy was fond of trips to the cabin in St. Helen and always looked forward to visiting with friends and neighbors there.
Judy is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Larry; sons: Kirt (Anna) Merchant of Gaylord, Mark Merchant of Bay City; special granddaughter and her pride and joy, Katie Merchant; brother, Ken Nicholas of Cass City. She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Private family service held in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery at a later date.
