DENNIS DUANE MELLINGER
Dennis D. Mellinger, 60, of Silverwood, died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at home following a long illness. He was born September 25, 1945 in Cadillac to Earl Raymond and Esther (Brooks) Mellinger. He married Ruby Weber Lyle in 1982. She died March 22, 1998.
Dennis worked for Daimler Chrysler Corporation for over 25 years. He lived in Hazel Park before retiring to Shay Lake four years ago. Dennis loved fishing and hunting, especially deer hunting. He loved his dogs Rosie and Danny.
Dennis is survived by his children: Mary Morawski of Bloomfield, Scott Mellinger of Kinde, Margarita Fiordilion os Sterling Heights, Dennis Mellinger, Jr. of Sterling Heights, Denise Mellinger, Shirley Mellinger of Warren, Duane Mellinger of Warren; lifelong friend and companion, Pearl Batzer of Detroit; 14 grandchildren; step-children: Glenna Lyle and Michael Webber; six step-grandchildren; sisters: Betty (Jim) Durham of Hazel Park, Sandy Fraser of Clinton Township, Judy (Russell) Sawyer, Janice Butler of Roseville; brother, Randy Mellinger; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Mellinger and his parents.
Funeral service held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2006 at his graveside with Debra L. Kranz, Funeral Service Celebrant officiating. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
