JANICE LYNN MCKELLAR
Janice L. McKellar, 72, of Gagetown, died following a long illness, Sunday, January 13, 2019 in United Hospice of Marlette Residence Center, Marlette. She was born April 30, 1946, at home in Owendale, the second of six children born to Lester and Donna Luella (Hahn) Fritz. She married Garry Frederick McKellar September 2, 1978 in Gagetown United Methodist Church.
Janice graduated from Laker High School. She worked for TI Automotive in Caro from 1985 until her stroke in 2001. Janice enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved family gatherings and making everything perfect for her guests. Janice loved to clean and kept an immaculate house. She was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Linkville for many years. At one time Janice volunteered as a Brownie Scout leader. She enjoyed Christmas decorating and was a perfectionist with that also. Recently, Janice was a loyal fan of Days of Our Lives.
Janice is survived by her husband, Garry; children: Tonya Parrish of Bad Axe, Robert J. (Patty) Haldane of Gagetown, Tara (David Galipeau) McKellar of Seattle, WA; grandchildren: Tyler, Shelby (fiancée, Jamie Carlisle), Carley, Madelyne, Amber and Allison; siblings: Sharon (John D.) Rockefeller of Gagetown, Lester (Mary) Fritz, Jr. of Cass City, Marcia Kundinger of Pigeon, Van (Suzanne) Fritz of Bay Port, Lonnie Fritz of Pigeon; brother-in-law, Kerry (Gloria) McKellar of Sebewaing; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Donna Fritz and Garry’s parents, Fred and Mary McKellar.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Linkville with Rev. Christopher Suggitt officiating. Interment will be in Grant Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Discretionary Fund or St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and photos with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
