BEVERLY ANN MAYFIELD
Beverly A. Mayfield, 79, of Decker, died Monday, August 29, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 7, 1937 in Cass City to Donald Edmund and Beva B. (Nichols) Wallace. She married James A. Mayfield September 27, 1968 in Toledo, OH.
Beverly graduated from Cass City High School and was honored as Homecoming Queen. She worked for many years as a secretary. Beverly retired from GATCO as Office Manager after many years of service. She loved working in her flower gardens. Beverly enjoyed cooking and was a good cook. Along with Jim they enjoyed traveling mostly throughout the state of Michigan. She was an avid reader, reading mostly mysteries and other books that sparked her interest.
Beverly is survived by her husband, James A. Mayfield; sons: Richard (Donna) Hover of Hartland, Brian Hover of Inkster; grandchildren: Ashleigh (Chris) Kitchens, Bryan Hover; the first great grandchild is due in October; step-children: Karen McAllister, Cynthia (James) Kelly, John (Cheryl) Mayfield; step-grandchildren: Jennifer, Kristi, James Patrick, Collin, Jessica, Emily, Spencer; brother, Al (Charlie) Wallace of Cass City; sisters: Marilyn Ziemba of Decker, Sharon (Arnold) Erla of Cass City, Carol Hartman of Cass City; sisters-in-law: Marlene Wallace of Cass City, Bea Wallace of Morrice; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by stepson-in-law, Robert McAllister; brothers: Robert Wallace, Jack Wallace; brother-in-law, Leonard Ziemba.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2016 in Kranz Funeral Home – Cass City with Brad Speirs of Novesta Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice Care. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
