IDA MAE MAY
90, of Deford, died following a brief illness Sunday, December 8, 2019 in Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, Caro. She was born July 9, 1929 at home in Kingston Township to Ben and Gertrude (Dorman) Scribner. She married Glen Dale May April 1, 1947 in Elm Rock, KY.
Ida Mae worked for Westinghouse in Lima, Ohio for five years. Later, she was employed by the Cigar Factory and Clifford Manufacturing. Ida Mae was known as a hard worker and for being a social butterfly. Spending time with family and friends made her the happiest. She enjoyed gardening and canning, sewing and crafts. Ida Mae was an avid euchre and blitz player. She always looked forward to a good game of dice.
Ida Mae is survived by her children: Gloria Clink of Caro; Margaret Knight of Cary, NC; Lorraine (Robert) Fritz of Caro; Glen (Lucy) May of Caro; Dale May of Muskegon; Jennie May of Deford; Nancy (Charles) Perez of Deford; daughter-in-law, Laura May of Simpsonville, SC; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glen; daughter, Carol Wright; son, James May; daughter-in- law: Christine May; sisters: Maryanne Sims, Claris Saylor; brother, Robert Scribner.
Funeral service held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor David Cooper of Deford Community Church officiating. Interment will be in Ellington Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
