Matthew Conrad Rumpl, Jr.

MATTHEW CONRAD RUMPL, JR.

      Matthew C. Rumpl, Jr., 75, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 17, 2024 in his brother’s home in Deford. He was born December 3, 1949 in Detroit to Matthew Conrad and Katherine (Chester) Rumpl, Sr. He married Linda Lou Horvath on March 23, 1974 in California. 

     Matthew proudly served and fought for his country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was employed by and retired from Chrysler Automotive. Matthew loved being outdoors and hunting. He had many passions including nature photography, especially birds. Matthew collected antiques of the Civil War and American Indian pieces. He always supported his hometown sports teams. Matthew enjoyed attending Detroit Red Wings’ games and bonding with his grandchildren over the Detroit Lions. Above all, he loved his family the most. They will all cherish the many fond memories of the time they spent with him. 

     Matthew is survived by his wife, Linda Rumpl; son, Clint (Katrina) Rumpl; grandchildren: Matthew Rumpl, Gavin Rumpl; siblings: Katherine, James, Tony, and Douglas.

      Interment with military honors will take place at a later date in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
