Mary Angeline Mills

Mary A. Mills, 69, of Cass City died Saturday, March 29, 2025 in Covenant Medical Center, Harrison. She was born October 14,1955 in Alpena to Elroy Floyd and Margaret Jennie (Gozdur) Packard. She married James E. Wooters. They shared over twenty years together and raised three children.

Mary's greatest joy was raising her children and spending time spoiling her many grandchildren while watching them grow. She enjoyed planning birthday parties with special cakes for everyone. Also, family casino trips, playing bingo, and dressing up for Halloween. Mary was the best witch, as it went well with her feisty personality, quick wit and sense of humor. She had no problem letting you know if you stepped out of line. Mary was a huge basketball fan and she could tell you almost anything about any player on any team. She was always willing to take one for her team, meaning her family and friends. Mary always gave generously throughout her whole life. She would go without to make sure others had what they needed. Even in death Mary did the same as she was an organ donor. We are very thankful to have had her love and tough love to guide us.

Mary is survived by her children: Dawn Meffer, James (Pam) Wooters, Jerry (Amanda) Wooters. She will be missed by her seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one on the way; sixteen step great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; siblings: Lorraine Garza, George Packard, Marilyn Flores. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Wooters and second husband, Donald Mills; children: Rhonda Hopkins, Daniel Wooters; siblings: Gloria, Henrietta, Shirley, Robert and Marvin; son-in-law, Steven Meffer.

Per Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
