MARTIN HARRY TWORK

Martin H. Twork, 82, of Cass City met the Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2023 in Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital of Saginaw. He was born October 24, 1940, one of five children born to Andrew and Edith Twork in Warren.  He married Glenda Lorraine Roths on August 13, 1962 in the home of Glenda’s mother.    

 Marty served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.  He and Glenda lived in the Detroit area until moving to Cass City in 1973.  A member of UAW Local 599, Marty was employed by General Motors in Flint as a machine repairman and retired in 1998.  He took great pride in serving for many years as past Commander and working alongside fellow veterans of the Cass City V.F.W. Post #3644.  His hobbies included spending quality time with Glenda, fishing, playing cards, working in his yard, and watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions on television.

Marty is survived by his wife, Glenda; daughter, Cindy Twork-Hyatt; son, David Twork; sister, Sally Hudson; grandchildren:  Jillyanna Twork, Caitlin (Ethan) Hulburt; great grandchildren:  Amarion, Elias, Caroline.  sisters-in-law:  Dolly Demann, Nora Lee Twork. He was preceded in death by his sisters:  Verna Proffitt, Nora Robertson; younger brother, James Twork.

Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Sam Leppert, Funeral Celebrant officiating.  Interment in Novesta Township Cemetery.  Military honors conducted by Cass City V.F.W. Post #3644 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.  Memorials may be made to Cass City V.F.W. Post # 3644.
