Ted R. Marshall, 81, of Cass City, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Saginaw after a short illness. He was born December 28, 1923 in Argyle to William Roy and Eva (Patterson) Marshall. He married Evelyn R. Kulish Reeves May 12, 1978 in Deford.
Ted served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in France and Germany. He worked for Wayne County as an Ambulance Driver for about 12 years. Ted moved to the Shabbona and Deford area and was a Dairy Farmer for many years. He worked for the Elkland Township Cemetery for 21 years until his retirement seven years ago, when he and Evelyn moved to the Davenport, FL area. Ted enjoyed horse pulls and loved draft horses and antique cars. He enjoyed motorcycles, even owning his own Harley several years ago. Ted was a gentle soul who truly loved, enjoyed and appreciated his family and friends.
Ted is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children: Theodore (Vicky) Marshall of Caro, David (Ruth Ann) Marshall of Cass City, Judy Marshall of Caro; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; Evelyn’s children: Cheryll Thomas of St. Clair Shores, Warren (Rebecca) Reeves Jr. of South Bend, IN, Kenneth (Joan) Reeves of New Baltimore, Debra (William) Kauble of Irvine, CA, Denise (Scott) Smiley of Laguna Niguel, CA, Cindy (Gerald) Dowdy of Ocala, FL, David Reeves of Marietta, GA; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Don Haviland of Grand Ledge. Ted is preceded in death by his son, James Roy Marshall; granddaughter, Sandy Marshall; two great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and his sister, Hazel Haviland.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2005 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Rev. Greg Reynolds District Superintendent of the East Michigan District of the Wesleyan Church officiating. Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Church of Central Florida Building Fund or Family Discretionary Fund. Interment is in Elkland Township Cemetery. Military honors under the direction of Cass City VFW Post #3644. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
