ORVILLE JAMES MALLORY,
89, of Gagetown, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 in Northwood Meadows Medical Care Unit. He was born July 6, 1920 in Cass City to Jem J. and Eva P. (Deneen) Mallory. He married Wattie W. Churchill January 10, 1942. She died March 6, 1990. He later married Johanna E. Leiterman Miklovich June 4, 1994 in St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown.
Orville served in the US Army earning the EAME ribbon, Good Conduct medal and Victory medal II. He worked many years for Brinker Lumber which became Croft-Clara Lumber, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Cass City VFW Post #3644, past president of the Gagetown Senior Citizens Group, previous member of the Hills & Dales General Hospital Board of Directors and he attended St. Agatha Catholic Church in Gagetown with Johanna. In years past Orville enjoyed hunting, especially rabbit and fox hunting. He raised hunting dogs many years ago. Orville loved playing cards especially euchre and cribbage.
Orville is survived by his wife, Johanna; children: Michael J. Mallory (Becky) of Cass City, Jeri Lynn (Frank) Tordai of Cass City, Rick L. (Nancy) Mallory of Cass City; step-children: Joe (Judy) Miklovich of Manfield, TX, Betty (Dan) Ederer of Rockford; grandchildren: Tami (Virgil) Peplinski, Rich (Bernadette) Mallory, Darryl (Brooke) Mallory, Jeff (Sara) Mallory, Ron (Terri) Mallory, Jamie (Vicki) Tordai, Jodie (Al) Rosenstangel; great grandchildren: Shane, Nikati, Raven, Ashley, April, Jordan, Alex, Ciara, Breanna, Alaina, Harlie, Christian, Cooper, Gage, Cameron and Allison; 5 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great grandchildren; brother, James (Beverly) Mallory of Kingston; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sisters: Dorothy McLellan and V. Marjorie Mallory, Wilma McLellan; brother, Richard D. Mallory.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in Kranz Funeral Home Cass City with Debra L. Kranz, Funeral Service Celebrant, officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Mallory: Tami Peplinski, Richard Mallory, Darryl Mallory, Jeff Mallory, Ron Mallory, Jamie Tordai, Shane Posluszny and Jodie Rosenstangel. Memorials may be made to Northwood Meadows, Cass City VFW Post #3644, Alzheimers Association or American Cancer Society.
